Windows 10 IoT Enterprise SAC (ESD) is an operating system designed for specialized, fixed-purpose devices—such as digital kiosks, POS terminals, medical equipment, or smart displays—that require regular feature updates.
This industrial edition utilizes the SAC (Semi-Annual Channel / General Availability Channel) update model. Unlike LTSC versions (which are "frozen in time"), this system periodically receives the latest Windows 10 features, drivers, and security tools.
The term "ESD" (Electronic Software Delivery) refers to digital license distribution; the client receives an electronic key (ePKEA) for rapid deployment on a production line, without the need for physical packaging.
